VW Vanagon Alternator This alternator was remanufactured by Willamette Electric. I purchased it years ago "just in case," at GI Joe's, for a 1982 Vanagon. It has been stored in my garage. I no longer own the Vanagon. This alternator has never been installed or used. It is still in the original box, which bears part number M13159. That might be a GI Joe's or Willamette Electric number. GI Joe's has informed me that this alternator fits the 1980, 1981, 1983, and 1983 Vanagon. Auto supply stores in my area do not give refunds on any electrical parts that have been installed. That seems a sensible policy to me; incorrect diagnoses may lead to damaged new parts. I guarantee that this alternator has never been installed, that it fits the 1980-1983 Vanagons, and that it is in perfect like-new operating condition. (There is some light surface corrosion here and there, as shown in the photos.) You are welcome to have it bench tested at an electrical specialty shop, but if you install it it's yours. Check my 100% positive feedback.
